WISE organized an event on September 18, 2025 to celebrate a significant milestone in empowering women domestic workers through a pilot project of adult literacy centers in four areas of Lahore and Sheikhupura. A total of 60 women successfully completed a one-year literacy program, marking a life-changing step in their transformative journey. The event included a panel discussion on the impact of literacy on community development, social participation, and gender equality, with valuable contributions from Shahnaz Ajmal (President, Women DWs Union Punjab), Rani Shamim Akhtar (Trainer of Adult Literacy Centers for Domestic Workers), Syeda Ghulam Fatima (General Secretary, Bonded Labour Liberation Front Pakistan), Imran Haider (Director, Labour and Human Resource Department, Lahore Punjab), and Bushra Khaliq (Executive Director, WISE).
