WISE, in collaboration with the Election Commission of Pakistan, conducted a series of voter awareness sessions during the month of September 2025 across Kot Lakhpat and Shera Kot in Lahore, and Muhalla Rehmaniya, Village Jatri, and Shah Chak in Nankana Sahib. A total of over 220 women and community members participated, including young leaders, students, teachers, housewives, and local political representatives. Each venue provided an important space for women to understand the significance of CNIC and voter registration and how these directly connect to their identity, rights, and ability to participate in the democratic process.
Across all sessions, participants consistently highlighted similar challenges, including delays in obtaining CNICs, lack of information on voter registration steps, mobility restrictions for women, and limited support at NADRA centres. Speakers from the Election Commission of Pakistan and local leadership emphasized that women’s participation is essential for a stronger democracy and stressed the need for collective efforts to close gaps in voter registration. The campaign reinforced a shared understanding that informed women voters are key to inclusive and accountable governance.
