On 22 December 2025, on the occasion of National Working Women’s Day, Women in Struggle for Empowerment (WISE) organized an orientation session bringing together community leaders and representatives from civil society organizations to recognize the vital contributions of working women and reflect on the challenges they continue to face.
Ms. Bushra Khaliq, Executive Director WISE, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to advancing women’s rights through advocacy for social protection, safe workplaces, and fair wages for all working women. Dr. Fozia Saeed highlighted the historical struggles of working women’s movements and outlined the legal and policy frameworks required to ensure protection, dignity, and equality at work.
The discussion was further enriched by Ms. Tanveer Jahan, Executive Director DCHD, and Ms. Rubina Jamil, General Secretary of the All Pakistan Trade Union Federation, who emphasized the importance of collective action, solidarity, and the role of trade unions and civil society in securing decent working conditions for women.
The session concluded with a collective call for stronger social protection systems, safer work environments, and fair wages, reaffirming that women’s labour must be valued, protected, and fairly compensated.
