Khuli Kachehri : Voicing for Inclusive Local Governance

On December 23, 2025, Khuli Kacheri, an Open Forum on Local Governance, was jointly organized by WISE and the Local Government and Community Development Department (LG&CDD) as a powerful and inclusive public engagement initiative. The forum provided a safe and participatory space where community women directly engaged with government officials to raise concerns related to local governance and service delivery.

The event enabled women to openly share challenges faced within their communities and encouraged meaningful dialogue on transparency, accountability, and responsive governance. By centering women’s voices, the Khuli Kucheri strengthened citizen participation and promoted inclusive decision-making at the grassroots level.

Key speakers included Ms. Asia Pervaiz, Deputy Director Women Development, Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal, Lahore; Ms. Zayeema Aman, Deputy Director WASA; Mr. M. Mazhar Gujar, ZOI Shalimar Zone; Mr. Malik Asif, Superintendent Shalimar Zone; and Mr. M. Akmal, SDO. Their active participation reflected a shared commitment to inclusive, responsive, and participatory local governance.
