On International Labor Day 2024, WISE organized a public seminar in Faisalabad, followed by a walk, in which a significant number of women domestic workers participated. The event was graced by Barrister Nasim Ahmed Bajwa, advocate, as the guest of honor, along with special guests, including Director of Labor Rai Yaseen Sarfraz Kharal and Director Social Security Ahsan ul Haq. Speakers included leaders from various domestic workers unions, such as Lailpur Domestic Workers Union, Parkhash Domestic Workers Union, Sitara Domestic Workers Union, and Women Domestic Workers Union Punjab. Notable among them were Perveen Latif Ansari, Shabana Pervaiz Bhatti, Naziran Bibi, Zarina Irshad, Shahnaz Ajmal, Amina Afzal, and labor leader Baba Latif Ansari. The speakers collectively urged the Punjab government to register domestic workers with PESSI and EOBI, issue social security cards, and implement minimum wage notifications.
