In connection with the campaign, WISE and Women Domestic Workers Union-Punjab jointly organized a public rally against Gender-Based Violence on 1st Dec 2023. A large number of community women and members of Women Domestic Workers Union joined the event in front of Lahore Press Club. The participants were carrying placards and banner inscribed with slogans to end violence against women. The charged participants marched the Shimla Hill square. They chanted slogans demanding the government to prevent violence against women & girls and invest more to ensure women in all their diversity live free of violence and coercion.
The rally was led by leaders of Domestic Workers Union, including; Shehnaz Ajmal President, Robina Mahmood Vice President, Shehnaz Fatima General Secretary, Asma Shaheen joint Secretary, Bushra Khaliq, Executive director WISE and Aima Mahmood, Labor rights activist.
