Symposium on “Safeguarding: Existing Legal Mechanisms in Punjab”

Yesterday organised a Symposium on “Safeguarding: Existing Legal Mechanisms in Punjab”. Among key speakers were Mohammad Irshad Waheed DG Punjab Women Protection Authority, Fizza Mumtaz Inspector CIA, Erum Rubab Head of Student Affairs and Gender Studies Department, University of Home Economics, Fakhara Irshad Deputy Executive Officer Punjab Safe Cities Authority Lahore, Mahnoor Chudhary Executive Director Khawaja Sira Society and Bushra Khaliq Executive Director WISE.

Over 100 participants including working women, young girls from educational institutes, representatives of Civil Society, and media persons were present on the occasion. The focus of discussion was women’s safety, protection, and the need for behavior change, emphasizing the importance of implementing existing laws and mechanisms.

This activity took place under the Women’s Voice and Leadership – Pakistan project. This project is funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada.
