The International Day of Democracy, celebrated on September 15th each year, is a global observance that underscores the importance of democracy as a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of good governance and peace.
In this connection WISE organised a seminar “Empowering Next Generation” yesterday. Speakers were of the view that Today’s young generation is dissatisfied with democracies’ performance. The political parties and institutions should encourage and ensure next generation participation in the political process.
With over 44% of new voters between the ages of 18 and 35, Pakistan’s young population will play an important role in the upcoming elections and influence the future of the country’s democracy.
