WISE organised a protest demo in connection with International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in front of Lahore Press Club.

The participants amplified voices against the alarming rise in cases of violence against women and girls specially in Punjab, where 1,97,017 cases of violence against women were registered by Punjab Safe City Authority, through their Virtual Police Stations during the last five months of current year.

We called for zero tolerance against any discrimination or violence. Both society and state denounce such behaviors and crimes; including rape, abduction, honor killings, forced child marriage, and the continued denial of any human rights and equality to girls and women. Govt must take firm, concrete action to protect all the human rights of girls and women in Pakistan.
