Internship Program

WISE has been implementing its Internship Program for the past 15 years, providing young graduates with practical learning opportunities, professional exposure, and pathways to strengthen their employability and career prospects. To date, approximately 55 young women from universities and colleges have benefited from the program, gaining hands-on experience in a women-led development organization working on gender equality, women’s rights, youth empowerment, and inclusive development.

In 2026, a total of 5 interns were enrolled, including 2 students from Lahore College for Women University, 2 from the University of Home Economics, and 1 from the Information Technology University. The program provides young women with an opportunity to move beyond academic learning and develop practical technical, communication, teamwork, research, advocacy, and professional skills in a professional work environment. By connecting young graduates with experienced development professionals, it also promotes meaningful intergenerational learning and exchange, enabling interns to learn from institutional experience while bringing fresh perspectives, ideas, and digital skills into the organization.

The program creates a supportive and inclusive learning environment that helps young women build confidence, strengthen their professional identities, and develop connections with the wider job market. It is particularly significant in expanding opportunities for young women to enter the professional and development sectors and strengthen their readiness for meaningful careers.

Through 15 years of sustained implementation, the Internship Program has become an important pathway for nurturing young women’s skills, leadership, and professional growth. It contributes to WISE’s broader commitment to women’s empowerment by investing in the next generation of women professionals and creating opportunities for them to learn, contribute, and progress in their careers.
