Continuing its efforts to promote safe and inclusive digital spaces, WISE organized a seminar on ending digital violence against women and girls on December 13, 2025 at Vandala Diyal Shah, Ferozwala, District Sheikhupura. The event brought together 160 women and girls, alongside key stakeholders, to strengthen awareness on digital safety, empowerment, and collective action.
The session began with a welcome note and program overview by Ms. Amina Afzal, Project Manager, WISE. Ms. Ayesha Afzal, Teacher at FEM DIGI HUB, highlighted WISE’s initiatives to empower girls through digital skills and responsible technology use. Ms. Aqsa Fayyaz, Incharge, Women Virtual Police Station, Punjab Safe Cities Authority, shared insights on safety mechanisms, complaint procedures, and reporting systems to address online harassment and gender-based violence.
Dr. Syeda Rabia Zeeshan, Lecturer, Government Graduate College (W), Vandala Diyal Shah, emphasized the role of educational institutions in fostering girls’ leadership, confidence, and digital awareness. Dr. Irfan Ashraf, Senior Medical Officer & Incharge, BHU Vandala Diyal Shah, and Dr. Bazgha discussed how healthcare professionals and basic health units support women’s physical and mental well-being, particularly survivors of violence. Mr. Rana Waqar, Ex-Chairperson UC-29, highlighted the importance of voter education and women’s informed participation in democratic processes.
The seminar concluded with remarks from Ms. Bushra Khaliq, Executive Director, WISE, who underscored safeguarding strategies, collective responsibility, and sustained advocacy to ensure safer digital and social spaces for women and girls.
