On 4th May 2026, in connection with International Labor Day, organized a seminar on “Advancing Safeguarding & Labor Rights”, in collaboration with the Women Development Department Punjab, at Working Women Hostel, Gulshan-e-Ravi Lahore. The seminar brought together 25 women workers to discuss the challenges faced by women workers in Pakistan and the importance of safeguarding and decent work practices.
The sessions highlighted women’s labor force participation, socio-economic challenges, workplace safety, legal protection mechanisms, and the promotion of dignified working conditions in Punjab. Valuable insights were shared by Dr. Iram Rubab, Chairperson Gender Studies Department, The University of Home Economics; Syeda Ghulam Fatima, Executive Director Bonded Labor Liberation Front (BLLF); and Bushra Khaliq, Executive Director WISE.
The seminar also featured an interactive reflection and Q&A session, followed by an address from the Guest of Honor, Tariq Khan Niazi, Director Directorate of Women Development, reaffirming the collective commitment to advancing labor rights, safeguarding, and creating safe workplaces for women across Punjab.
