The event, held on 14 May 2026, was jointly organized by the Directorate of Women Development and Women in Struggle for Empowerment to mark International Mother’s Day, celebrating the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of mothers in society.
The seminar was presided over by Saman Rai, Secretary, Women Development Department, who shared thoughtful reflections on women’s empowerment and the importance of building an inclusive and equitable society for women and girls.
During the session, Women in Struggle for Empowerment emphasized that mothers deserve more than symbolic appreciation. True respect lies in ensuring justice, dignity, equal opportunities, healthcare, education, economic empowerment, and the protection of women’s rights. Honouring mothers requires building a society where women can live safely, participate equally, and lead with confidence.
The seminar provided a meaningful platform for dialogue and reinforced a collective commitment towards gender equality and social justice.
