On 18 July 2026, WISE, in collaboration with the University of Home Economics and SheherSaaz, organised a meaningful dialogue on “Women and Water” to highlight the gendered dimensions of water access, governance and climate resilience. Recognising that water is not gender-neutral and that women and girls experience water-related challenges most directly, the event brought together diverse stakeholders to explore pathways towards equitable and sustainable water management.

The dialogue was graciously presided over by Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-Nisa, Vice Chancellor, University of Home Economics. Participants discussed the importance of ensuring women’s meaningful participation in water governance, climate adaptation and policy-making to address the disproportionate impacts of water insecurity on women and girls.

The event concluded with a shared commitment to advancing gender-responsive water policies and reaffirmed that water justice is fundamental to achieving gender justice.
