WISE organised a two-day residential training workshop on “Empowering Women for Community Development” on 27-28 May 2023 at Lahore Country Club, Muridke. The 30 women from Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib participated.

The resource person on day was Prof. Dr. Rehana Saeed, Department of Political Science, The Punjab University while Ms. Almas Shakoor, Local Government and Gender Expert conducted sessions on 2nd day. The participants, through group works, devised charter of demands for their respective districts with regard to Municipal Services & Community Outreach, Women Representation and Participation in LG System.

The training program was designed for the members of the three district level Advocacy Groups, focused on women empowerment in community development initiatives. This workshop seeks to empower participants to drive meaningful change and create a more equitable society.
