The Punjab Domestic Workers Act 2019 was introduced in February 2019, however, rules of business and functional frameworks are yet to defined. WISE is determined to push forward the agenda of implementation of the law through awareness and advocacy campaign “Rights & Dignity for Domestic Workers in Punjab”, in collaboration with Norwegian Human Rights Fund (NHRF) in districts of Lahore and Sheikhupura.

Under this initiative WISE is undertaking awareness activities related to legal and labor rights of women domestic workers and encourage their registration with Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) in Punjab. For that purpose, WISE organized several awareness sessions and meetings where the domestic workers were briefed about their rights and entitlements covered under the new law.
