ProTECT: Program to End Child Trafficking
The ProTECT aims to strengthen the enforcement of anti-trafficking and child protection laws in Pakistan by implementing targeted advocacy and capacity-building initiatives. The program focuses on multiple key interventions:
Advocacy for Law and Policy Reform: Project leads an advocacy campaign to promote strong commitment toward reform and enforcement of laws and policies related to Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and child protection, with a focus on ensuring effective enforcement and accountability.
Training for Labor Inspectors: Targeted training sessions for labor inspectors, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to identify and support victims of child trafficking effectively.
Know Your Rights: The campaign works directly with young adults and youth who are currently or have been involved in child domestic or bonded labor, along with their families and local influential. These sessions aim to raise awareness about their rights, the dangers of trafficking, and child labor, and available protection measures.
Trauma Management: To support the holistic recovery of trafficking, bonded or forced labour victims the program offers trauma management training. This training helps participants develop coping strategies for trauma, learn effective management techniques, and adhere to ethical guidelines for trauma-informed care.
