WISE organized a Provincial Stakeholders Consultation focusing on the “Punjab Domestic Workers Act 2019 – Progress and Way Forward.” The event drew government representatives, labor unions, and a large number of women domestic workers from various districts.

Crucial topics such as the registration of domestic workers, approval of business rules, the enforcement of minimum wage notifications, and measures pertaining to labor inspection were thoroughly discussed.

The lineup of key speakers featured Bushra Khaliq, Executive Director of WISE; Muhammad Shahid, Deputy Director of the Labor Department; Aima Mahmood, Member of the Governing body of PESSI; Ishtiaq Gujjar, President of the PESSI Staff Federation; Baba Latif Ansari, a prominent labor leader; Usman Pasha, an expert in Labor Laws; Shahnaz Bibi, President of the Women Domestic Workers Union in Punjab; Nageena, Vice President of Sitara Workers Union in Toba Tek Singh; the President of Faisalabad Workers Union; and Amna from the Domestic Workers Union in Chunian.
