On 23 August 2025, WISE, under the banner of the World March of Women Pakistan, joined the 6th International Action with a powerful call for feminist action on climate justice. The event brought together women’s struggles against inequality, oppression, and climate changes, highlighting how gender and environmental crises are deeply interconnected. Participants collaborated to design symbols for the collective tent, representing their shared resistance and commitment to building a world free from war, exploitation, and ecological destruction.
This collective act of creation was more than symbolic. It reflected the urgent reality that women, particularly from marginalized communities, face the harshest impacts of the climate crisis from displacement and food insecurity to the loss of livelihoods and increased vulnerability during disasters. By centering women’s voices and leadership, the action underscored that climate justice cannot be achieved without gender equality, and that feminist solidarity is central to shaping a sustainable and just future.
Next month, the collective tent will stand in Nepal as a global symbol of women’s resilience, peace, and climate leadership. It will carry the vision of a world where feministaction drives climate justice, and where women’s struggles for dignity, equality, and sustainability converge to secure a safer planet for generations to come.
WISE calls on feminist movements, climate justice networks, and global allies to amplify women’s voices in climate negotiations and action. Policymakers must recognise that climate justice is inseparable from gender equality, and ensure women’s leadership and feminist solidarity are placed at the centre of climate resilience and peace building efforts.
