On 4 June 2026, WISE organized the third and final Public Hearing (Khawateen Khuli Kachehri) at the Municipal Committee Office, Sheikhupura, bringing together 120 participants, including women community leaders, youth, civil society representatives, and local government officials. The event provided a platform for citizens to directly engage with service providers and discuss issues related to public services, local governance, and access to rights and entitlements.
The hearing featured contributions from Muhammad Ali, Pervaiz Ahmed, Muhammad Ali, Saima Sandhu, Jamila Janjua, Islam-ud-Din, and Mahmood Ahmed. The speakers shared information on available public services, complaint redressal mechanisms, legal rights, and the role of local government institutions in addressing community concerns.
Participants raised issues related to municipal services, solid waste management, birth and death registration, marriage registration, and access to government services. The interactive dialogue strengthened communication between citizens and public institutions and encouraged greater civic participation.
WISE continues to promote inclusive and responsive local governance by creating opportunities for communities, particularly women, to engage with decision-makers and advocate for improved public service delivery.
